Education

  • Ph.D., Marine environmental chemistry and toxicology, University of Nantes, France, September 2007. Dissertation : Petaïbols, toxic fungal metabolites in coastal areas. Detection, quatification and ecotoxicological relevance. Advisor : Dr. J.C. Amiard, Pr. M. Montagu.
  • MSc., Disruption of biological systems :stress analysis and risk management, University of Angers, France, July 2003. Thesis : Metallothionein like protein in the endobenthic worm Hediste diversicolor : characterization, role in metal tolerance and relevance as biomarker in estuarine ecosystems. Advisor : Dr. B Berthet.

Current research interests

  • Evaluate the exposome of marine organisms to emerging contaminants (mainly thyroid disruptors, metallic nanoparticles and microplastics) and their biological effects
  • Develop novel analytical methods to characterize environmental pollutants, with a particular focus on ultra high performance chromatography coupled to fluorimetry and mass spectrometry
  • Promote mass spectrometry based ecotoxicological metabolomics with the goals to better understand the mechanistic basis of pollutant effects and to discover novel markers of exposure or effect.
